What a relief. November 5, 2007 Kevin Funk 22 out of 22 found this review helpful
I started out with a little Holmes heater that was $5 cheaper that i got from wal-mart, but the thing was horrible, took forever to heat up a little room even.
I was skeptical of something that looked decent, and assumed it wouldn't perform all that great... but boy was i surprised.
Heats up real quick, nice auto temp set of 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, and 'Max'.. along with manual settings, and oscillating that creates no more noise than the heater does, which is minimal for a space heater. Also has 4, 2, and 1 hr timers on it.
Only downsides, it beeps loud like a microwave with every button you touch, which gets annoying, and it would be nice if they made space heaters with 24 hour timers on them, to plan heating for when i wake up, but none of the kind exist.
Great buy, i think it was 40ish from wal-mart, very happy with it.
Hot! ... Looks great and works great October 24, 2007 Book Princess (Houston, TX USA) 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
In Houston there is not much occassion for a heater but when the occassion rises it should work well. For the last two "winters" (haha) I have avoided being downstairs at all. The home's central heat rises up and keeps the upstairs toasty but the downstairs feels like a meat locker even with the central heat on 90F! I had never considered having a space heater at home but had used one successfully at work in freezing cold office spaces so I finally had a light go off to get one for the downstairs heating dilema. Last night there was finally an opportunity to test out this heater and I am thrilled at how it subtly warms the space and looks good enough to house in a stylish living room! This looks great and heats very well with zero issues. Enjoy! BTW: I shop Amazon constantly but I will confess that I did purchase this at Wal-mart for $40.00. Big savings unless you want the convenience of it arriving on your door-step.
A high quality heater that looks like a work-of-art! January 21, 2008 L. Sayre 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
This Lasko heater is very stylish and well-built, has excellent controls and thermostat, good heat output, and oscillates (if desired). It's really one of the classiest looking heaters available, especially in this medium price range. And even though a cheap, white plastic utility heater will, realistically, supply the same heat output, someone who purchases this Lasko unit will do so for the look, build-quality, and pride-in-ownership, rather than just as a simple heater.
Looks fabulous, works great!! March 19, 2008 Teresa Elmore (Hickory, NC) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I was instantly sold on this heater on its looks alone. I did not care about features, I just wanted a piece of equipment that would be reliable, look good, and do the job. After reading the product overview and then the customer reviews, I could not click the purchase button fast enough! Now that it has arrived, I am even more impressed with item.
I must say, be sure to look at the dimensions of this item, I did not and was very surprised by how small this heater is. I was expecting something much larger, however, it worked out well because I just placed the heater on the dresser top and it blends right into the room. It comes already assembled, just open the box, plug in, and turn it on and PRESTO... instant heat! The controls are easy to understand and utilize. I quickly came to love the temperature set option. Just select the desired temperature. And it takes care of the rest. The oscillation was not a selling point for me, it is a nice touch to help disperse the heat slightly, but I use the ceiling fan in the room to keep the air evenly warm... no hot spots, no cold spot. One last word... QUIET! You barely hear this thing at all and what you do hear is just a low white noise, which may contribute to better sleep, but certainly will not interfere with television viewing.
It has become a part of the room's decor instead of an object to trip over or get in the way.
Heat! December 12, 2007 Nicole Campbell (Chicago) 11 out of 14 found this review helpful
We've only had this heater for a couple days. I was looking for something that didn't look like an ugly box, and I found this! Sure, its not really decorative, but it looks much nicer than most heaters.
We bought this to off set our insane gas heating bill. Heres to hoping it works.
It also has a couple timer settings on it. Press the timer button once, and it sets for one hour, twice sets it for 2 hours, pressing it three times sets it for 4 hours. If you press the timer button 4 times, it will set it for 7 hours.
You can also choose which heat setting you want to set it at. From 60 to 85. This heater also has an oscillation mode.
