Excellent so far December 3, 2009 R. Stanley 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
My unit is identical to the one shown here except mine has a remote (which I don't use). I've been using it for two months to warm up my cold office during the day. It doesn't have the power to heat the whole 13x13 room on a really cold day (I set it for 65 but sometimes it never gets above 61), but with it beside my desk blowing on my legs it keeps me very comfortable. It doesn't need to heat the room, just me, and at that it does fine.
It's quiet. The rotating function is nice and the carry handle is convenient. I also like the timer function so I don't have to remember to turn it off at the end of the day.
I will update this review if anything changes. Last winter I had a different heater (see my other reviews for that one) which worked fine until it flamed out after several months. Here's hoping this one doesn't do the same. If there's no updates, you can assume it lasted through the winter.
Lasko products exceeded my expectations November 14, 2009 Amelia Peace (WI) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I am a light sleeper and this heater is quite. There are many heating options too. Well worth the purchase. Works well in a small and large rooms, but the only setback is there is no remote for this product.
great product January 8, 2010 Patrick Strecker 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great heater. It puts out a lot of heat and is really quiet. My room isnt super large but it easily kept it at 70deg on low. The only things i didnt like was the fact that it didnt have tip over protection and the oscillating range was pretty narrow. I gave it 5 stars because again it was a great heater and the things i didnt like were not a big deal.
nice heater December 8, 2009 Clarke D. Banta 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I saw a favorable review on another web site about this heater giving out gentle heat and having worked well for 3 years so I purchased it even though the price was so low that I thought it might be to good to be true. It is very good and it has all kinds of controls to help it meet your needs. The heat output is good, will keep a fair sized bedroom warm and we like the gentle oscillation and timer that allows you to have it shut off when you want it to. For the money it is a very good buy.
My 2nd Lasko. Not a single complaint. Lasko rocks! February 11, 2010 Ruby Tuesday I had a Lasko a couple years ago in NYC because my cheap landlord would keep the heat so low that I'd freeze. The Lasko tower had excellent reviews and sure enough, that thing worked great. I got rid of it when I moved and now with this crazy winter bought another one. Different model than the first but still the same reliable machine that I had before. These Lasko towers get the job done!
I can tell you that my heater at the new place wasn't working right- constantly running but not really heating- and my bills were sky high. So that's when I sprung for Lasko #2. This thing almost instantly heated my whole living room and kitchen area up. I'm not good with dimensions but I'd say it's at least a 12 x 25 area.
Features I most like:
1. Oscillating- will spread the heat throughout the area
2. Set it to the exact temp. you want and it'll auto shut-off and on as needed
3. Extremely light and portable- tower takes up almost no space and can be carried to another room
4. Heats up in no time at all. So fast I don't even know how they do it- way better than my central heat.
5. Economical- Since I mostly stay in one or two rooms I can actually shut my heat off with this thing and save a lot of $$$.
The ONLY downside to this option is that if you want to heat a very large area or several rooms at the same time you'd probably want to buy more than one. But on the other hand, due to it being so lightweight and heating so quickly you can always just move it to another room if you're really on in one room at a time.
But for my purpose, I have absolutely no complaints whatsover. Kudos to Lasko. I'll never buy anything else.
PS- I believe this also has built-in safety features too, but don't quote me on that. I know my other model did and it was very similar. This is especially good have if you have kids, pets, will leave it on when you sleep, etc.
